We asked Matthijs Van Mierlo, who's been shooting really cool pics of Antwerp's architecture for years now, to make a series on his favorite Antwerp hoods. Last week he dropped by De Luchtbal. Second stop: Zurenborg.

Matthijs: "Zurenborg is split in two by the railway tracks that float over the neighborhood. On one side of the tracks lies the grand architecture of the Cogels-Osylei and its surrounding streets. The other side is the younger and livelier half of Zurenborg, with De Dageraadplaats at its heart.

My favorite part, De Draakplaats, lies smack in the middle and is dominated by the beautiful arcades of the bridge, and the noise of trams, busses and thundering trains passing overhead. Zurenborg has lots of moving parts and De Draakplaats is at the heart of all that movement. That's why I love it so much, especially when I'm sitting on one of the terraces with a beer at hand. Cheers, Zurenborg, and keep on moving."
